Mary Chamberlain
Mary was elected Executive Vice-President at the 2005 Triennial Convention in Halifax. Prior to that she had held the post of Vice-President for Ontario since 1996.
Mary's public service career began in 1972 with a term position in Ottawa. She had been employed by DND since 1976 at CFB Petawawa, CFB Gagetown (1983-1987) and at Command Headquarters in Lahr, West Germany (1987-1989). Until August 2005, she was employed as a CR 4 at 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters, CFB Petawawa.
Her National responsibilities include: UNDE Human Resources OPI and member of the Joint UMCC Human Resources Sub-Committee; member of the joint DND Civilian Scholarship Program; UNDE OPI for Canadian Forces Medical Group, Canadian Forces Housing Agency, Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Informal Conflict Management (ICMS); and UNDE Liaison on Public Service Modernization Act (PSMA), Public Service Employment Act (PSEA), and Public Service Labour Relations Act ; Chair of UNDE’s Communications and Training (COMTRA) Committee.
Mary continues to believe in a straightforward approach and honest dialogue, not only in her dealings with management, but also with all levels of the union organization.
