Bob Champoux
Bob Champoux began his public service career in 1986 for the Department of National Defence as a messenger term employee. He also worked as a storesperson, computer operator and is presently a client service provider at National Defence Headquarters.
In the union, from 1993 to 1995, Bob was elected vice-president and then president of a local representing 330 members. During his mandate, there were a number of important issues affecting the membership of the local, including downsizing, restructuring and technological change.
In 1996, Bob was elected vice-president of the largest region in the union, the National Capital Region. He was then re-elected at the Victoria Convention in 1999, the Montreal Convention in 2002 and the Halifax Convention in 2005. As a member of the National Executive, he is currently assigned to the Bylaws Committee and the Human Rights Committee. He is also a Liaison Officer for the Employee Assistance Program and OPI for Health and Safety.
