Local 680 – Resolution 3
WHEREAS the NPF members are paid disproportionately less than their sisters and brothers in the Treasury Board locals:
BE IT RESOLVED that the PSAC maintain the current percentage rate of union dues paid by those members earning $30,000 annually or less.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the PSAC maintain the current percentage rate of union dues paid by those members earning $30,000 annually or less.

63)Local 704 – Resolution 11
WHEREAS there can be significant costs associated with the start-up of a new local within UNDE;
WHEREAS there are no funds identified within the budget for assistance with start-up to a new local;
WHEREAS organizing new locals is a responsibility and a necessity for the continual growth of the union:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT a line item be added to the budget to assist with the start-up of new locals, amount to be determined by the finance committee;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon request by a VP, the amount of $500 be allocated for assistance in the start-up of a new local.
64) Local 705 – Resolution 2
WHEREAS the leasing of the national office has put members’ funds towards “rent” rather than the union owning our own property;
WHEREAS UNDE in the past owned its own building, which carried equity for the membership;
WHEREAS the union has a significant amount of money in investments at present;
WHEREAS rents will increase and we will never get the money back;
WHEREAS if funds are needed for any reason such as fightback campaigns, the union will be able to borrow against the equity in the property:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT UNDE purchase a building to house our national office, with enough space for meeting rooms and other future needs;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT no long term leases be signed, only a short term interim lease until we can get into the new property;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this will be completed by the end of the first year of the upcoming mandate.

WHEREAS the NPF/PSP/CANEX/SISIP members require more training at every level and many areas to represent the membership effectively:
BE IT RESOLVED that the convention finance committee allocate additional funds over the current dollar figure for such training.

WHEREAS there is not enough training available for members handling union-related issues:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the bylaws be amended to ensure the training budget has more funds available for the training of said members.
72) Local 910 – Resolution 16
WHEREAS the component believes in full equality for all its members;
WHEREAS education is paramount in developing leaders within the union:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the component fund the education budget at one million dollars.
