Bill C-257 - Lobby Report

Sister Debbie Graham (UNDE VP NL/NB) and Brothers Philippe Turcq (UNDE VP Quebec) and Blair Dirks (President, UNDE IMP Trenton) were three of the 30 PSAC members who participated in the final lobbying drive of Bill C-257, Replacement Workers legislation that was slated for its third and final reading 21 Mar 07.

Under the coalition of the CLC, 150 union activists from various unions across the country came together to lobby all MPs and Senators to try and get Bill C-257 passed. Our task was to try and meet with every MP so that we could present our package of information that was addressing the concern they had regarding the bill. We were also in the house to watch the vote on the bill and unfortunately, it was lost.

Sister Debbie and Brothers Philippe and Blair join together to thank each of your for all your efforts and support for the lobbyists who worked around the clock during an extreme cold snap in Ottawa 19 - 21 Mar.
