Presentation at UNDE Local 1008
LCdr Ray Stacey retired after 40 years of service to the Canadian Navy. Among his postings, Ray was the CFB Esquimalt Base Operations Officer for a number of years. He was an integral member of the Base’s Strike Committee and a most valuable asset to both the Base and Unions during labour actions at CFB Esquimalt. Ray was instrumental in preventing accidents on the picket line and was most hospitable when dealing with union leaders. Due to his actions and concerns, and his great ability to communicate, the military members of CFB Esquimalt now have great respect for their civilian counterparts and knowledge of what to do, and what not to do, when they encounter a union picket line.
