October 18, 2005 - PSAC Women Meet with MP Andy Scott - In support of the PSAC Atlantic Regional Women’s Committees campaign to meet with their MP to advance the 5 priority issues of Child Poverty, National Child Care, Pay Equity, Violence Against Women and Re-Assignment of Pregnant and Nursing Women, seen here are Sisters Tania Hache (UTE 60005, PSAC Atlantic Francophone Director and Chair of Fredericton Area Council), Bea Breau (UPCE 60105), Alternate PSAC Francophone Director and Alternate PSAC GLBT Director) and Debbie Graham (UNDE VP NL/NB and Alternate REVP Atlantic) with Fredericton MP Andy Scott. Andy Scott, who is the Cabinet Minister for Indian Affairs and Northern Development, was presented with a white “Make Poverty History” and a PSAC bandana at the end of the meeting that lasted over one hour. Many suggestions and recommendations were made that will be followed up in the near future.

A presentation of a UNDE ball cap was made to Nathan Rideout, son of Local 90125 member Kevin Rideout and recently elected VP for Non-Supervisory who did a fine job helping to keep members' spirits up while we waited word from Minister Pratt, Premier Danny Williams and others who met with the members of the Coalition of
Concerned Citizens on the future of Goose Bay.

December 1, 2004 - VP Regional Report to National Executive
November 30, 2004 -The National EAP Symposium was held in Kingston during the period 14 - 17 Nov 04. Our region was well represented by Sister Gail Connolly (St. John's, NL), Sister Gwen Francis and Brother Andy Mills (Gander, NL), Sister Betty Parsons (Goose Bay. NL) and Sisters Donna Chayer, Connie Denby, Karen Berteit, Debbie Troke, and Brothers Richard Leblanc and Bob Powell (Gagetown, NB). Welcoming speeches were by Shirley Siegel - ADM (HR Civ), Alan Williams - ADM (Mat) and EAP Champion, John MacLennan - UNDE National President and Doug Pike - UNDE OPI EAP. Keynote speakers included David Granirer (Managing Stress with Laughter), Dr. David Posen (Taking Care of the Caregivers) and Carol Ann Fried (Positively Assertive).
Workshops to cover topics on Dealing with Conflict, Hypnotherapist - Teach Yourself Relaxation Using Self-Hypnosis, I am the Boss of Me, You Have More Control Than You Think, Honour Thyself, Fearless Presentation, I'm Stressed - Pass the Chips, The Balancing Act - Juggling our Daily Demands, Role Play Practice, Laughing Matters, Depression Burnout, Discovering Your Power, Working With Difficult People, Celebrating Ourselves and How to Manage Your Energy Capital were geared toward providing Care for The Caregivers, the Theme of the Symposium. Numerous opportunities were provided for networking and sharing the celebrations that many of the caregivers in our workplace can be proud of!

August 2004 - Photo - Local President Dennis Sheppard met with the Executive Director for the Gander and Area Chamber Of Commerce Thursday July 22nd. Full support from the Chamber was offered. The director is developing a draft based on the info provided by Brother Sheppard. The draft letter will be sent out to all affiliated members and all Chambers west of Gander. The Local plans to follow with its own letter shortly afterwards.
