GS Fightback Committee Presentation
UNDE Presidents' Conference 2005

Presented by John Irving

On behalf of the GS Fightback Committee, I will give you a recent synopsis of the Committee's activity:

  • The committee believes that fightback activity must be unique for each interested local.
  • Sister Marie Kennedy has developed a fightback course which includes business case analysis and strategic organizing ideas.
  • In May 2004, Local 637 at CFB Trenton selected as the pilot site. The course was initially to be given in the Fall of 2004; however, the strike forced a cancellation of the course.
  • The training has been scheduled for 2, 3 April 2005 in Trenton.
  • Following this pilot, the training will be offered to all interested locals.
  • The course can be modified to each local's need.
  • If you need info on this course, contact your GS fightback regional representative or the UNDE national office.
  • A pamphlet on the course contents will be prepared and distributed within the next 60 days.
  • Questions?
