EAP OPI REPORT

EAP CHAMPION

Mr. Rod Monette, the EAP Champion, effective 27 October is no longer our Champion. Mr. Rod Monette has been appointed the Interim Comptroller General of Canada. The search is on for a new Champion and as of the time of the drafting of this report a new Champion has not been appointed. The Union / Bargaining Agents are being consulted.

I, as the Co-Chair of the N EAP AC, have requested a meeting in Ottawa with the Labour Representatives and the Director of DDWB and the Manager of Corporate EAP and Well-Being to discuss the selection of a new Champion.

N EAP AC MEETING & REGIONAL/ COMMAND COORDINATORS MEETING

These meeetings that were scheduled for the last week of November 2007 have been postponed until the new Champion has been appointed. The plan is to hold these meetings early in 2008.

RA TRAINING

An English RA course was held in Cornwall September 16-28, 2007. Nineteen new RAs from across Canada were trained. A French RA course was held in Cornwall October 28 - November 9, 2007. Another English RA course and a Chairpersons course will be held early in 2008.

EAP SYMPOSIUM 2009

Costing has now been completed for the next symposium. This info has been sent to members of the N EAP AC and we will discuss and make decisions at our next meeting early in 2008.

ESQUIMALT EAP WEEK

As the Co-Chair of the N EAP AC, I was invited and attended the 25th EAP Anniversary and RADD In Victoria. This event included not only RAs from MARPAC but RAs as well from Comox. It was an excellent event.
